been a minute!

sorry for not updating the past few days! almost two weeks, where has time gone!?
well, yesterday (july 27th) was my birthday and i turned nineteen. kind of a weird age to turn haha, not that exciting ya know? i got a birthday package from my mom and dad the day before and they sent me a cookie mix (momma thought it was a cake mix haha...and you wonder where you get my blonde moments from? love you mom (; ) the movie 'leap year' (fave!), a book my momma made of all my bridal pictures, a game and of course some birthday hats and balloons and a card! ohh how i love my family <3 sure isn't the same without your family on your birthday, but i guess thats what i get for growing up /:

on my day of birth i made the cookies while justin was at work, and then justin and three of his buddies (was another kids birthday also) came and picked me up and we went swimming for a bit. me and just left early to come home and get ready cuz justin had made dinner reservations. we went out to dinner at a place downtown called Aposto with our friends bre and sid. the restaurant is actually in an old wine cellar so its pretty cool and i thought the dinner was delish! ordered spaghetti carbanara, yum! after dinner we walked around taking pictures downtown and then went over to the benbo's house to have cake that bre made for me and also got me a willow tree angel which i love and have been wanting to start collecting, so this is the start (: thank you dear!

my hubby got me the kim kardashian perfume and a leather jacket. love em! thank you just (:

today justin worked until about 3, since everyones pretty much gone on their leave he hasn't had to work too late, which has been nice and i don't want it to end! once he got home we went to the mall downtown and shopped for some new running/workout shoes. we both ended up getting the 'nike frees' and we LOVE em. we got home and made philli cheese steaks for din din and then went for a walk to test out our new shoes haha. came home and watched a movie and i made seven layer dip for us to snack on!

yummy seven layer dip

woo hoo

ok ok just have to tell everyone...i finally went and took the german drivers test today and i...PASSED! (: pretty surprised considering i only studied the night before
we also got our jetta today so i got to drive it, boy does it feel good to finally be behind the wheel driving again! in germany to top things off! haha.

our all nighter was a success saturday night. stayed up till six in the morning, and as soon as we hit the pillow we were out haha. stayed up watchin miss teen usa, talking and playing games! guess i can say i have a pretty awesome husband (;

sunday it rained all day so it was just kind of a 'stay at home and cuddle in blankets and watch movies' kind of day (:

five favorite colors:

ok for starters i've always kind of been a more of a nuetral color girl. lately i've looked through my closet and decided i need to start getting into different colors and branch out a bit haha. i also change my mind alot with my 'favorite' colors, so as of right now these are my favorite...

black- is definately my 'go to' color on just about anything. furniture, clothes, shoes, etc. luckily justin likes black furniture just as much as i do (: and as long as you don't wear brown with black then we can be friends

pink- always been obsessed. at one point my bedroom walls were bright pink haha. typical girl i guess?

teal- been obsessed lately and i have no idea why. looks awesome with brown

grey- always have liked grey, no matter what shade, i like it

and last but not least...

white- who could go wrong with white? looks clean, matches with anything and you can never go wrong with just a white tee (:

"perfection"

i first off have to post this amazing article that i came across for all of you to read. all i have to say is wow.
i'll be honest i can relate to this because i've always been one to wish i was someone else whether it be the way they look, how tan they are, their cute clothes/hair, how skinny they are...well you get the picture. i need to start being 'real' and be truely happy and love me for who i am. yup, that's my goal.

justin finally made it home thursday night and was exhausted. don't blame him one bit. he had a long week training in the rainy, cold weather. poor guy.

with that said, this calls for a lazy weekend (: watching movies, playing games and of course sleeping haha. although today i did talk him into going shopping with me for a bit and i'm tryin to talk him into pullin an all nighter with me tonight (: it's been awhile! we've got our energy drinks and snacks! we'll see how long this lasts haha...

ohh justin. this is why i love him.

but for now i'll continue with my little challenge:

five things you did today:

one- skyped my dad at one in the morning. then texted my mom at five in the am. boy do i love my parents. no matter what time of day or night i love being able to talk to them and see them via skype is what keeps me going! whenever i get homesick or have a bad day i know my momma/best friend is just a skype date/phonecall away and it makes me feel better <3 miss them more than anything! how'd i get so lucky to have such an awesome family?

two- went shopping with the hubby. it's always fun when justin's so willing to go shopping with me (: sometimes i think he likes shopping more than i do though haha

three- ate somewhat healthy today haha. ok ok just subway. i'll admit, even though we live in germany it's always nice to be able to go on base and have some good ol' subway or taco bell

four- took radley on a walk. we try to do either a walk or bike ride every night to get the pup out of the house. and he loves it. so do we cuz then he sleeps better at night (:

five- so far doing pretty good on the all nighter ... (:

challenge

justin's been gone in the field since monday, so i really haven't been up to much (: been trying to get all our paperwork and stuff figured out and done to get our 'new to us' car this week! yes, thats right, we're getting an automatic car for me to drive haha. a cute little white volkswagen jetta, looks similar to this one:

i'm really excited because, not only have i not been able to drive for the past four months, but ever since i started driving i've always wanted a jetta. just a cute little car (:
also, radley finally got a haircut, and at first i didn't like it (and i don't think he did either because he acted a little weird after, like he was embarrassed about it lol) but now i'm getting used to it and he's still cuter than ever

 before

and after

ok so i decided i wanna do another little blog challenge. so, i am (:
this one will last just a few days, fifteen to be exact, and the theme will be in groups of five; you'll see what i mean

five things you could eat all day:

one- fruit.
any kind of fruit, really. its all my fave. but if i haaaad to choose it would probably be grapefruit. whether the already sliced, canned grapefruit or fresh. recently tried the 'white grapefruit' and its just as good (: oh and can't forget the salt! (or sugar, depending on my mood)

two- cheese.
sting, sliced, shredded. i like it all. and to make it even better, add some saltine crackers and its the perfect little snack (:

three- (do texas roadhouse rolls count?)
they should. because i could eat those every single day, no doubt about it! when they're still steaming hot and then you put the cinna-butter on it mmm, nothin gets better than that! wish there was a texas roadhouse in germany haha

four- spaghetti.
it's always been a favorite meal of mine. and i'll admit, all i would ever eat is just the noodles and add a little butter and salt. hated any kind of sauce on it, but lately i've been gettin used to putting sauce on it. i guess i'm finally movin up haha

five- smoothies.
ya ya i know probably doesn't count as 'food' but couldn't resist. i make 'orange juliuses' all the time and i love trying different flavored juices. it's my goal to find the recipe for 'pink star' and 'orange dream machine' smoothies from jamba juice. yum!

THAT'S embarrassing

haha oookay so i have a funny story;
today me and justin had to drive to the frankfurt airport kind of last minute to pick up one of his buddy's that was flying in. so there we are, sitting down waiting and watching everyone get off the plane and meeting who was there to pick them up, i love watching people at the airport and their expressions when they get off the plane and just thinking what their story is and how long they've been gone...ok so maybe i'm a little weird haha. (there was a guy that had a HUGE teddy bear on a luggage carrier waiting for his girl, soo cute) anyway, there was this girl who came through the doors, running to who it looked like her mom and sister, and also a dog, which was super excited to see this girl. well, she was wearing a skirt and had a backpack on. as she got closer to the dog, she bent over to pet this dog and the back of her skirt was caught in her backpack, and all we saw was leopard underwear. the guy sitting next to us busted up laughing and leaned over and started speaking german so we asked if he spoke english and then he said "well, at least it wasn't a g-string" haha how embarrassing! the sad thing is, no one 'noticed' or said anything until her sister saw it and pulled it down like five minutes later. all i can say is i'm glad it wasn't me!
what makes it even funnier is just a few nights ago me and justin watched a funny youtube video "too short"...won't let me post it so go check it out haha.

woah it's been a minute since i last blogged. fourth of july we ended up just hangin out at home, playing games, FINALLY got our phone and internet hooked up, and then went to the little celebration they were having on base

wasn't really what we were expecting at all, but we chilled there for a bit and then later we went and parked up on a hill to kind of get away from traffic, to watch the fireworks. they weren't that bad but let me tell ya, fourth of july here is nothing like in the states! i missed bein with family and all the fun things we always do for the fourth

justin had monday and tuesday off for the fourth so tuesday was just kind of a relaxing day before he had to go back to work. went on a nice little walk and also went tanning at a cute little self service tanning salon they have downtown (justin went too and he got FRIED, but i didn't tell you that (: haha)

wednesday was back to work for justin, and nothin new...

today, like i said, we had to drive to frankfurt to the airport. lots of traffic which made a short trip into a looong one. when we got back into town, we went to a doner shop in our little town. i wasn't hungry so i didn't order anything so i was just sitting there while the guys ate. as i was sitting there the lady that worked there kept lookin at me, then she got up went into the back and came back out with a little glass full of some green liquid. set it in front of me and said 'danke' which means thank you. a little confused, i looked at it and went to pick it up to taste it and it was SO hot. so i picked up the little spoon next to it and sipped it off that and whatever that hot drink was, it was delicious. it tasted like green apple. its my mission to find out what it is haha.

good thing is, it's the weekend again! woo hoo! and next week is gonna be a long one cuz justins gonna be gone in the field again :/ hope everyone has a good weekend! (:

(haha)

he makes me melt like a popsicle on the 4th of july (:

june fourteenth two-thousand ten, i not only said yes to my best friend, but to a soldier. not real sure what my future was gonna hold or how being an 'army wife' was going to be. fourth of july has always been like my favorite holiday, spending time with family, having bbqs, getting all decked out in red, white and blue, going to parades and of course you can't forget the fireworks! but last years fourth of july was different for me...seeing a man in uniform had a whole new meaning.

i finally realized how much they sacrifriced, being away from their families, missing out on holidays and all the big events, not always being able to be home for their childs birth, etc. i realized how many of them weren't able to make it back from fighting for our freedom. i realized just how lucky we are to live in a free country. saying the pledge of allegiance with your hand over your heart and looking at the flag means so much more to me now than i ever thought it would.

after two months of justin being gone to basic, i got to fly out to kentucky and see him graduate. the feeling i got seeing him for the first time after being gone, and in uniform, is a feeling i can't even begin to describe. its the best feeling in the world

being married to a man in uniform has changed my life completely. it has made me stronger than i ever thought i could be.

i just want to let my soldier know how proud i am of him and thankful for all he does and the sacrifices he makes everyday! and even though i get sick of all his 'army stuff' scattered all over the house, i am so glad i have my soldier who comes home to me everyday in his uniform (: so proud to say i am married to an american soldier! i love you just!

throw some glitter make it rain

can't believe it's almost the weekend again already! but i'm not complaining (: yesterday i woke up with justin and we drove one of his sergeants to the frankfurt airport which is about 2 hours from us. punched the airport into our gps and off we went and it ended up taking us through all these little towns, but needless to say we did make it to the airport on time haha. german roads are sooo different from ones in america. no roads are 'straight' here whatsoever. boy i can't wait to drive in america again!

this morning it was pouring rain so i got up and started cleaning and then decided to do my glitter toes (: and also did my fingernails for the fourth of july! can you say bored?

gettin quite the collection of glitter (:

*did i mention i absolutely love my ring? (: *

couldn't get a good picture - looks better in person i promise haha

justin got home around seven tonight, made tacos for dinner, went on our nightly walk and now just gonna relax and watch a movie! (:

been feelin really homesick today for some reason so just wanted to say i love and miss my family tons and can't wait to see you all again! <3

oh boy.

well today i caught up on the bachelorette! yes, i know that show is pretty much just a train wreck but i can't help but to watch it cuz i think i'm a little obsessed haha. it's not the same without watching it with my mom though. before i moved, every monday night after my mom got home we would go downstairs, cuddle up in blankets and watch the bachelor/bachelorette and have just a little girls night. miss that like crazy, but for now i'm stuck with just keepin up on it from the internet (:

go JP (:

for dinner me and justin had some spongebob mac and cheese n chicken nuggets, yes we're still kids at heart!
and then went on a walk around our cute little town and took some pictures:
