throw some glitter make it rain



can't believe it's almost the weekend again already! but i'm not complaining (: yesterday i woke up with justin and we drove one of his sergeants to the frankfurt airport which is about 2 hours from us. punched the airport into our gps and off we went and it ended up taking us through all these little towns, but needless to say we did make it to the airport on time haha. german roads are sooo different from ones in america. no roads are 'straight' here whatsoever. boy i can't wait to drive in america again!

this morning it was pouring rain so i got up and started cleaning and then decided to do my glitter toes (: and also did my fingernails for the fourth of july! can you say bored?

justin got home around seven tonight, made tacos for dinner, went on our nightly walk and now just gonna relax and watch a movie! (:

been feelin really homesick today for some reason so just wanted to say i love and miss my family tons and can't wait to see you all again! <3



oh boy.

well today i caught up on the bachelorette! yes, i know that show is pretty much just a train wreck but i can't help but to watch it cuz i think i'm a little obsessed haha. it's not the same without watching it with my mom though. before i moved, every monday night after my mom got home we would go downstairs, cuddle up in blankets and watch the bachelor/bachelorette and have just a little girls night. miss that like crazy, but for now i'm stuck with just keepin up on it from the internet (:

hubby's home!

sorry it's been awhile since i've blogged! it's been a weird week! justin left monday morning to go to the field for some training and didn't come home until friday night! and to top that all off it rained everyday this week, ugh. anyway, here's the week wrap-up (:

monday justin left, as i said, so i just kind of cleaned up the house and watched movies and had a lazy day inside!

tuesday i went to a self-help class on post with my neighbor girls, which lasted only fifteen minutes, but was worth it because now we can go get free paint, light bulbs, nails and such. the rest of the day i hung out with bre and she stayed over at our house, made dinner and stayed up late just talking, you know, what girls do haha

wednesday me and bre rode mine and justins bikes back to her house, made some mac and cheese and hung out for awhile then when it stopped raining for a bit i came back home and cleaned and caught up on my bachelorette shows (:

thursday i just hung out at home during the day then bre and i took a taxi into town to base to meet up with our other friend allison for dinner, good girls night out

friday i cleaned, did laundry, cleaned some more and made some bbq ribs (: and then around seven justin FINALLY came home! ate some dinner, he took a nap and then went and watched the fireworks at volksfest and then left cuz it was super crowded

yesterday we went downtown and to the mall and went shopping (: we got a new camera (woo hoo) and a few new clothes. came home and got ready and then went to the volksfest with our awesome neighborsons to try it out again haha (volksfest is like a large event in germany that combines a carnival and a festival, free to get in but have to pay for each ride, has a big beer tent, of course, and little booths to get yummy food and chocolates and stuff) it was a success, didn't rain and wasn't too crowded!

today was the first day this week that it was finally good weather! we went and did a little grocery shopping, came home and got radley and then went to a little lake around here (: ate at the little cafe thats there, walked around the whole lake, went to lay down on our blanket and then some guy came up and told us 'no dogs allowed here'...so let me get this straight, you can take a dog to the grocery store and restaraunts but can't take one to the lake? doesn't make sense to me but oh well haha, so that ended our little adventure at the lake! tonight we're just hangin out playing games and going to catch up on 'army wives' and plan our trip to italy in july!

i just wanted to say Alles Gute zum Vatertag (happy father's day) to my daddy! he's such a hard-working man and i appreciate all he does for me! we've had our times and have butted heads quite a bit but in the end he's always been there for me (: i'll always be his little girl no matter what.

i love and miss you daddy! sorry i can't be there to spend it with you, but i have something coming to you from germany! even though its probably not as good as corb's fathers day gift to you ;) what would we do without corb though, right?

this weekend i finally got to see justin longer than two hours a night. friday when he got home from work we got ready and went out to dinner with a kid from his platoon and his wife and little boy who is ten months old (cutest little boy) we went to a yummy italian place in a little village called poppenhausen about twenty minutes from our house. after dinner we came back to our place and watched a movie.

saturday i went and got my hair done, we went grocery shopping and then ran a few errands. that night we went to hangover 2 with our friends bre and sid and then came home and made dinner and then layed in bed for about two hours watching youtube videos haha (: and i got to talk to my family for a bit on skype <3


also broke our camera on accident by dropping it :( hopefully we can find a new one here soon...

today my wonderful hubby made me breakfast in bed (: we've just kind of had a lazy day doin some laundry, went and got some subway and just took me to a place where they train and stuff and just went on a nice little sunday drive. justin's getting all his stuff ready to leave for the week for training :/ i have a feeling it's gonna be a loooong week. but on a good note we finally get phone and internet tomorrow! woo hoo!

is it the weekend yet?

talk about a long week! i think i've seen justin a total of like 2 hours a night after work, if that. he has been busy busy this week training and what not, yesterday he finally got to jump here in germany for his first time since being here. all the rest of the times he was supposed to the weather turned bad. anyway, he made it safely, thank goodness (: said he landed in a tree, but i guess thats common here? haha. and then they had a long mission to do after the jump so he didn't end up getting home until midnight (mind you he left at 10 pm the night before) but he said he had fun doing it so i guess i don't feel too bad for him (;

all next week he will be gone for training also. he will leave monday and won't be getting back until friday /: guess that calls for lots of girls nights then!

speaking of girls nights, i also had fun yesterday having a day/night out with the girls (: me and three of my awesome neighbors went to the lake, walked around it and talked (forgot to get pictures, but i think me and justin will be going there this weekend so i will be sure to get some!) and then went and had some lunch at the little cafe they have there at the lake. by the time we got home everyone was exhausted, i think the sun did it in for all of us haha.

later that night we went to a little place on base called the warrier zone because they were having a little 'dancing with the stars' thing goin on where chelsie hightower and two other dancers were gonna be there. well, we ended up showing up on time, we thought, and everyone said they had already been there and did about a 40 second dance thing and left. so my guess is, we didn't miss out on much lol. but we still had alot of fun, ordered food, sat around and talked and just had a good time getting out of the house!

will definately have to start doing that more often because it gets kind of boring sitting around the house, cleaning and what not, all day everyday (:

one year engagement (:

so yesterday was our one year mark of being engaged (: not only that, but it has been a year since justin left for basic (crazy!) sooo i decided to make a cute little dinner for him for when he got home: zuppa toscana. my favorite soup from olive garden! and since i can't exactly go there to eat it, i figured why not try to make it. it was definately a success; it was delicious! (i will share the goodness at the bottom also haha)

(oh yes, also had some yummy starfruit!)

after our little dinner, we ventured out on our little nightly bikeride and went and said hello to our dear friend Bre (: germany is gorgeous...

today has just been a boring usual day. justin had to go into work early this morning, got off at four and then back to work he went at 11 tonight since he jumps out of a perfectly good airplane tomorrow! yikes.

zupa toscana recipe:

1 lb  ground italian sausage

1 tsp crushed red pepper

1 lg diced white onion

4 TB bacon pieces

2 minced garlic cloves

2 cups kale

1 qt water

2- 14.5 oz cans of chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

3-4 potatoes sliced

1.cook sausauge and red pepper in large pot. drain fat. refridgerate while cooking rest

2. cook bacon, onions, garlic, on low-med heat for approx 15 minutes or until onions soft

3. add broth and water and boil

4. add potatoes and cook till tender, about half hour

5. add cream and cook till warm

6. stir in kale and sausage and heat and ENJOY! (:
