one year engagement (:

so yesterday was our one year mark of being engaged (: not only that, but it has been a year since justin left for basic (crazy!) sooo i decided to make a cute little dinner for him for when he got home: zuppa toscana. my favorite soup from olive garden! and since i can't exactly go there to eat it, i figured why not try to make it. it was definately a success; it was delicious! (i will share the goodness at the bottom also haha)

after our little dinner, we ventured out on our little nightly bikeride and went and said hello to our dear friend Bre (: germany is gorgeous...

today has just been a boring usual day. justin had to go into work early this morning, got off at four and then back to work he went at 11 tonight since he jumps out of a perfectly good airplane tomorrow! yikes.


zupa toscana recipe:

1 lb  ground italian sausage
1 tsp crushed red pepper
1 lg diced white onion
4 TB bacon pieces
2 minced garlic cloves
2 cups kale
1 qt water
2- 14.5 oz cans of chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
3-4 potatoes sliced

1.cook sausauge and red pepper in large pot. drain fat. refridgerate while cooking rest
2. cook bacon, onions, garlic, on low-med heat for approx 15 minutes or until onions soft
3. add broth and water and boil
4. add potatoes and cook till tender, about half hour
5. add cream and cook till warm
6. stir in kale and sausage and heat and ENJOY! (:
